Behaviour Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit in Burry Port.

The successful candidate will work with students who have been excluded from mainstream education due to social, emotional, and mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to students in managing their behaviour in educational settings
  • Implement behavioural management strategies to support students with mental health issues, anxiety, and trauma
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students, incorporating trauma-informed practices
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to address behavioural concerns and develop individualised support plans
  • Participate in safeguarding procedures to protect the well-being of students
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of behavioural management techniques
  • Familiarity with mental health issues, anxiety, and trauma
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, teachers, and other professionals
