CBW Staffing Solutions is currently in search of a Field-Based Mechanical Engineer to cover the South East London/Kent region, responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse commercial portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in servicing, repairing, and installing heating systems along with plumbing tasks in various commercial environments.
This role is particularly suited for a Field-Based Mechanical Engineer currently in a comparable position who is eager for career advancement. In return, the organization offers a competitive salary of up to £45,000, along with potential pathways for further professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical plant operations
- Maintain pumps, motors, seals, and bearings
- Conduct plumbing tasks such as unblocking toilets and replacing taps and washers
- Monitor BMS systems (i.e., hot and cold water)
- Execute all aspects of mechanical and electrical (M&E) and fabric maintenance
- Keep and update maintenance logbooks
- Adhere to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance schedules
- Replace taps and washers as needed
- Install and replace hot water cylinders, pipework, and boilers; perform temperature checks and repairs on M&E equipment
- Prioritize tasks within contract constraints
- Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve objectives
- Participate in standby rota for emergency calls outside of standard working hours
- Provide input for pricing M&E works for minor projects and maintenance as required
- Salary of £45,000
- 40 hours per week
- Overtime opportunities available
- Call-out rota of 1 in 5
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or equivalent recognized trade qualification
- Experience with central heating, water heaters, pipework, and unvented hot water systems
- Knowledge of HVAC systems
- Full clean driving license required
