About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at The New Hall Lane Practice. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medications for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and document the correct addition and removal of medications following receipt of discharge summaries, secondary care, and community clinic letters.
  • Take telephone prescription orders from patients and ensure accurate processing.
  • Organize repeat and acute medication lists to ensure timely and efficient dispensing.
  • Provide independent information to patients regarding medications and prescribing changes, initiating further support from other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Coordinate medical device prescription requests, including catheters, nutritional supplements/feeds, and stoma care products.
  • Work with the clinical team to develop and implement medicines management policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of medicines management services, including training and education for practice staff.
  • Assist in and perform other routine tasks related to patient care, as directed by the GP Partners and managers.
Requirements
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Enrolled in, undertaking, or qualified from the Primary Care Pharmacy Educational Pathway (PCPEP).
  • Appropriate Pharmacy Technician qualification.
  • Experience of working in General Practice, with a strong understanding of medication management and patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
