About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Clinical Trials and Aseptics team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of clinical trials and assisting in the setup of logistics for clinical trials across a wide range of clinical specialties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and promote Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) to ensure the safety of the medicinal product, patient, and staff.
  • Support the pharmacy clinical trials manager and senior pharmacy technicians in clinical trials and aseptics.
  • Contribute to the development of technical expertise and skill mix to set up more complex advanced therapy trials at the trust.
  • Support pharmaceutical technical oversight for the active clinical trials (CT) portfolio and coordinate the workflow for the early phase portfolio and bespoke clinical trials.
  • Ensure adverse occurrences are recorded and reported via the Trust incident reporting system in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to departmental strategies to reduce expenditure and manage services within budgets.
Requirements
  • NVQ3, BTEC in pharmaceutical science or equivalent plus other additional training for checking dispensed prescriptions or products.
  • GPhC registration.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures acquired through training.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Clinical Practice, and the regulations surrounding Pharmaceutical Manufacture.
  • Knowledge of clean room design and functioning.
  • COSHH Regulations and Health & Safety at Work Act.
