Position Overview
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for a faculty role in the College of Agriculture. This position focuses on teaching, research, and extension services within various academic programs. The selected individual will be responsible for delivering up to 18 credit hours of instruction per semester, utilizing both in-person and online teaching modalities to enhance student learning and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in areas such as agriculture, family and consumer sciences, textiles, dietetics, and hospitality management.
- Provide regular office hours to support student success and address academic inquiries.
- Engage in research activities, including experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis.
- Contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials that reflect current trends and technologies in education.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline. A PhD is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate effective teaching abilities and have hands-on experience in research methodologies and instructional technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in higher education teaching, research, or extension is highly desirable. Certification in relevant areas of teaching or research is also preferred. Familiarity with learning management systems and the ability to leverage technology to enhance educational experiences is essential.
