About the Role

The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse to fill the position of Lead Benign Urology Nurse. This is a high-profile, dynamic, and pioneering role that requires a strong leader to manage the urology nursing services and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and deliver high-quality urology services, developing new services and training staff to deliver these services.
  • Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct, contributing to corporate objectives and acting within local, Trust, and statutory guidelines and policies.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines across multiple departments, ensuring clinical governance is embedded in practice.
  • Manage budgets, monitoring variance and implementing contingency plans as necessary, including bank and agency expenditure and sickness.
  • Lead and manage the urology nursing services, engaging directly with medical and nursing teams to provide leadership, advice, collaboration, and consultancy.
Requirements
  • Highly developed communication skills, enabling the maintenance of high-quality service within a complex and challenging environment.
  • Ability to provide professional and emotional support to individuals and groups during difficult situations or unexpected events.
  • Accountable for maintaining a clean, safe environment, ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control.
  • Responsible for adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy, and Divisional objectives designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from clinical and non-clinical risk and known hazards.
