As a Tax Market Intelligence Associate within the Client Tax Operations Utility, your main objective will be to enhance the client experience while ensuring adherence to global tax regulations. This involves facilitating the collection of valid client tax documentation, managing withholding tax and refunds, and overseeing regulatory reporting submissions. This position demands a proactive approach to compliance and controls, a keen response to regulatory and market shifts, and a commitment to operational excellence in our processes and technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and authorize all tax-related communications issued to clients.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of current operational tax processes to identify potential risks and areas for improvement, implementing innovative solutions as necessary.
  • Identify, escalate, and engage in the resolution of risk-related incidents.
  • Draft internal communications to support activities related to regulatory and market changes.
  • Maintain tax rate static data within the Custody Tax platform.
  • Review tax rate approvals for all new market account openings.
  • Provide tax technical support to all operational teams within the Client Tax Operations Utility.
  • Collaborate with Custody Tax Product teams to support regulatory, market, and strategic projects.
  • Effectively communicate changes to colleagues in Client Tax Operations, providing clear and actionable guidance.
  • Engage with external agents and tax authorities to support regulatory and market changes.
  • Participate in and contribute to internal Operational Working Groups.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of international withholding tax practices and regulatory change management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in process improvement, with the ability to articulate ideas, concepts, and procedural changes clearly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Examples of risk awareness and operational control experience within financial services.
  • Proven experience in environments where accuracy is critical and deadlines are strict.
  • Technical proficiency with tools such as MS Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, and UiPath.
