As a Tax Compliance Analyst within the Client Tax Operations Utility team, your key role will be to enhance the client experience while ensuring adherence to global tax regulations. This involves the efficient collection of valid client tax documentation, the application of withholding tax, management of refunds, and the submission of necessary regulatory reports.
This position operates within a dynamic environment that demands ongoing compliance and control, a proactive response to regulatory and market shifts, and operational excellence in our processes and technology. Some teams may work in shifts, either fixed or rotating, with core hours typically from 9 AM to 5 PM. There may be a requirement for occasional overtime, weekend work, and shift adjustments to meet business needs. The team is also expected to provide support during public holidays to assist clients in international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate tax documents and certificates in line with JPMorgan and market-level policies.
- Open client accounts in the JP Morgan tax system in collaboration with the sub-custodian network.
- Establish client trade settlement instructions and monitor asset movements to ensure compliance with the appropriate tax rate accounts.
- Submit tax certificates and declarations to sub-custodians and depositories worldwide to facilitate tax relief.
- Conduct regular reviews of clients to confirm they receive the correct tax treatment across global markets.
- Provide updates on market account openings and client fund launches, ensuring regular metrics and milestones are communicated.
- Ensure accurate completion of market documentation, adhering to naming conventions and obtaining necessary approvals in accordance with JP Morgan & Agent Policy.
- Monitor and adjust client accounts based on notifications of tax changes.
- Foster relationships with key internal and external contacts.
- Own specific Management Information System (MIS) metrics and report to the management team weekly.
- Strong administrative and organizational capabilities.
