Job Title: Night Reception Centre Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Night Reception Centre Worker to join our team at Kent County Council's Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking (UAS) Children's Service. As a key member of our Reception Centre team, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse team of managers and workers who are committed to ensuring children are protected and supported to take the first steps in their journey to a more permanent home elsewhere in the UK. As a Night Reception Centre Worker, you will be responsible for managing routines, setting goals for young people, timekeeping, and facilitating a learning culture in the centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support and care to UAS children in a residential setting
  • Manage routines and set goals for young people to promote their development and well-being
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Contribute to a learning culture in the centre, promoting the development of young people

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Experience of working with children and young peopleStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentFlexibility to work across a rolling shift pattern, including regular cover over weekends
