About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Education Mental Health Practitioner/Children's Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Lichfield Mental Health Support Team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with schools to deliver mental health assessments, interventions, and support to children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions in educational settings.
  • Work in partnership with children, young people, their families, and educators to develop plans for intervention and agreed outcomes.
  • Support and empower children, young people, their parents/carers, and families to make informed choices about interventions.
  • Operate from an inclusive values base, recognizing and respecting diversity.
  • Accept referrals within educational settings according to agreed local and national protocols.
  • Undertake and record accurate assessments of risk and operate clear risk management processes.

Requirements
  • Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1yr 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' course.
  • CYP Wellbeing Practitioner Training.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid trained.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of working with children and young people, their families, and others.
  • Experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional, and/or behavioural difficulties.
  • Experience of delivering specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families.
