Job Summary

The Director of Operational Finance plays a pivotal role in leading a team of finance professionals to manage a substantial budget, influencing a Trust-wide revenue budget exceeding £1 billion and an annual Capital budget of £60 million. This position requires strong leadership and financial expertise to navigate the challenging NHS financial landscape and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate and supportive leadership to the finance team, ensuring high-quality and responsive outputs.
  • Offer sound financial expertise to support a quality accounting service, adhering to accounting and governance standards.
  • Develop and implement robust governance arrangements for Finance and Procurement, ensuring quality reporting.
  • Optimize software solutions for enhanced efficiency and establish clear processes for monitoring expenditure.
  • Lead statutory financial duties, including the submission of the Annual Consolidated Compliance, and develop necessary procedures, controls, and forecasting.
  • Contribute to the ICS Director of Finance group and provide a quality service to DCHS as part of the Integrated System.
