About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Protection Specialist to join our team at the UK Atomic Energy Authority. As a key member of our Health Physics Group, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our operations and personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Head of Profession, Health Physics, on matters of radiological protection.
  • Ensure staff are suitably qualified and experienced to undertake tasks.
  • Assist in delivering training courses in radiation, beryllium, and transport safety.
  • Provide advice on matters related to Schedule 4 of IRR17, including controlled and supervised areas, and the implementation of requirements for ionising radiation.
Requirements
  • Certified and Appointed Radiation Protection Adviser.
  • Degree or substantial relevant experience in radiation protection.
  • Radiation protection professional qualification, e.g., HPA/RPD Foundation Course in Radiation Protection or equivalent.
