Accounts Payable Team Lead

Reporting to the Director – Financing Reporting, the Accounts Payable Supervisor will plan, organize and manage the day-to-day operations of a centralized Accounts Payable department.
This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards of service in the management of fiscal, human and material resources for the department.
The incumbent exercises initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters.
This position functions in a manner consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient processes for accounts payable operations.
- Supervise and mentor a team of Accounts Payable staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Adhere to all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Business Administration from an accredited business program, majoring in Accounting.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook, with particular competency in the creation and modification of excel spreadsheets.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software is an asset.
- Two (2) years recent relevant and supervisory experience.
- Previous Accounts Payable experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills both in oral and written format.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and direct activities.
- Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple priorities and competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to promote positive change.
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
- Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
- Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
- Good work and attendance record.
