A Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer is sought by a global leader in Defence and Military Technology, as they expand their engineering team.

The Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer will join the Mechanical Engineering division, contributing to the enhancement of existing products within the Defence and Military sector.
In this role, you will engage in Mechanical Design, Testing, and Trials, playing a crucial part in developing the next generation of defence technologies.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer
- Lead the resolution of technical challenges as part of a collaborative project team, liaising with Technical Leads and clients.
- Design solutions that meet client specifications, ensuring thorough validation and verification throughout the design lifecycle.
- Oversee and evaluate design outputs and technical documentation, mentoring junior engineers as needed.
- Conduct technical assessments and investigations, compiling reports with recommendations to enhance engineering practices.
- Plan, execute, and monitor assigned projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and requirements.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualifications for the Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer
- A degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering field, or substantial experience in an engineering setting, with proficiency in drafting and reviewing technical documents.
- Experience in design within both production and prototyping environments, utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) tools for structural analysis, and product data management (PDM) systems.
- Familiarity with technical office protocols, standards, and documentation practices.
- Comprehensive understanding of the complete Product and Engineering Life Cycle.
- Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Proficient in CAD software (such as CREO) and PLM systems (like Teamcenter).
- Eligibility for BPSS Security Clearance and potential for SC Clearance due to the nature of the products and systems involved.
