Position: Lead Supply Chain Strategist (Construction Sector)

Compensation: Up to £80,000 based on qualifications and experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulating robust sourcing strategies that align with the Infrastructure Construction Strategy while proactively identifying potential risks and issues within procurement and contract frameworks.
  • Providing effective leadership and guidance to foster a successful team environment, ensuring health, safety, and wellbeing are prioritized.
  • Overseeing the procurement process for sourcing and contracting, including the development of tender packages, evaluation, and award processes.
  • Managing Framework Agreements and the commercial performance of contractors, while cultivating relationships with both strategic suppliers and key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiating and finalizing contracts with external suppliers, offering expertise in cost and pricing, and managing contract closure activities.
  • Implementing supplier relationship management tools to ensure thorough supplier evaluations and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Contributing to bidding activities to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints and business objectives.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in supply chain management within the construction sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of JCT and NEC Construction contracts.
  • Strong understanding of business and procurement methodologies, processes, policies, and strategies.
  • Proven experience in contract and supplier performance management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on the client side.
  • MRICS qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in public sector or regulated environments.
