Join Our Team as a CFO for a PE-Backed Professional Services Business

Marks Sattin is working with a dynamic and ambitious PE-backed tech-enabled professional services business based in the West Midlands. This business has experienced significant growth through acquisitions via an impressive buy and build platform. As a key member of the senior management team, the CFO will play a crucial role in driving financial excellence and executing due diligence for potential acquisitions.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) with experience as a CFO in a PE-backed business, preferably in a buy and build environment. They will have a strong track record of implementing and improving accounting systems, processes, and management information and financial reporting. Additionally, they will have experience of buy and build/M&A with a thorough understanding of financial due diligence for acquisitions, and potential risks and opportunities.

The successful candidate will be a leader and role model, heavily involved in leading an active M&A and investment strategy to drive the continued growth of the business. They will have excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to operate at pace and drive change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the business's financial strategy
  • Provide skilled financial leadership and accurate financial projections to support strategic decision-making
  • Support the CEO and management team in developing and delivering the business plan
  • Lead the finance and operations department and play a key role in professionalising the business
  • Implement controls, processes, and procedures to support growth

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA)
  • Experience as a CFO in a PE-backed business, preferably in a buy and build environment
  • Strong track record of implementing and improving accounting systems, processes, and management information and financial reporting
  • Experience of buy and build/M&A with a thorough understanding of financial due diligence for acquisitions, and potential risks and opportunities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
