About the Role

Cygnet Sedgley Lodge & House is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mental Health Nurse to join their team on a fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and support workers, ensuring effective care and associated duties are allocated and implemented.

The service provides a 34-bed high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men with complex needs, promoting mental health recovery through a focus on space, personal privacy, and dignity.

The ideal candidate will have a current Pin Number, experience in mental health nursing, and a commitment to patient recovery. They will be well-informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 and have an understanding of latest nursing practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the care and associated duties of an allocated team of nurses and support workers
  • Develop and monitor managerial and clinical supervision within the team
  • Monitor staff rotas to ensure effective staffing on shifts, with due regard to skill and gender mix
  • Conduct Return to Work and Sickness interviews, ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained
  • Participate in Staff and Patient meetings, and attend training sessions as required
