About the Role

The Avon Pension Fund is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join its newly established Digital Services team as a Pensions Administration Specialist. Reporting directly to the Digital Services Team Leader, this role involves managing the processing of leaver data received from scheme employers, assisting with bulk and automated processing, and ensuring that member data remains accurate and current. This is essential for enabling members to fully utilize My Pension Online services and The Pensions Dashboard.

The successful candidate will collaborate with scheme employers and members to verify data accuracy and ensure that benefits are calculated in accordance with Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations. Delivering excellent customer service to both members and employers in alignment with established Service Level Agreements is a key responsibility.

The postholder will also be tasked with identifying and addressing discrepancies in member data, while providing feedback on potential improvements to working practices, procedures, and processes within the team. This role is vital within a dynamic pensions team and is well-suited for individuals with experience in Local Government Pensions who possess a positive and committed attitude and are eager to advance their careers.

Essential Skills

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are crucial for this position, along with meticulous attention to detail and a solid understanding of the LGPS or defined benefit pension schemes.
