As a Residential Support Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals who:
Have encountered significant life challenges, including homelessness, and require guidance to access essential services while empowering them to reach their full potential. May struggle with mental health issues, substance abuse, domestic violence, trauma, and financial hardships, collaborating with your team and other professionals to identify and manage safeguarding situations to take effective supportive measures. Need assistance in maintaining their housing and preparing for future independence. You will collaborate with various partner organizations to create pathways for individuals to transition successfully into stable, self-sufficient living arrangements.Your efforts will contribute to making a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients every day.
Candidate Profile
To excel in this role, you should be ready to engage fully, understanding that each day will present unique challenges. This may involve working with individuals in crisis one day and participating in community-building activities the next.
The ideal Residential Support Specialist will:
Have a passion for working with vulnerable populations and assisting them in achieving their objectives. Be skilled in fostering effective relationships with a diverse range of individuals, including clients and colleagues, with the ability to influence and negotiate. Be comfortable navigating difficult conversations, maintaining confidence and firmness while being respectful and empathetic. Possess the ability to listen actively and discern the true needs of our clients, committed to securing the best possible outcomes. Have solid administrative skills and experience in maintaining accurate documentation. Understand the importance of support planning, risk assessment, and motivating individuals to recognize and pursue their goals. Exhibit resilience and a comprehension of the challenges faced by individuals in supported housing. Be capable of working effectively without judgment, while upholding strong professional boundaries.If you meet these criteria, you may be the right fit for our team.
