Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Stress Engineer to join our team in the UK. As a Stress Engineer, you will provide analytical guidance in structural and occupant injury simulation, working closely with other functions such as Design, Certification, and Production to ensure that seating products are lightweight, durable, and safe throughout their working life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide analytical guidance in structural and occupant injury simulation
- Work closely with other functions such as Design, Certification, and Production
- Ensure that seating products are lightweight, durable, and safe throughout their working life
- Prepare, review, and approve hand calculations, linear static, non-linear, crash, multi-body dynamic, and optimization FE models for seating products
- Identify structural design issues and recommend improvements and alternate solutions
- Support root cause analysis (e.g. 8D/Ishikawa)
- Provide expertise in continuous improvement of department processes, methods, and manuals
- Be innovative in their approach to problem-solving
Requirements
- Working knowledge of regulations FAR/CS 25-561, EASA Part 21 J, ARP 5526, and Airframer specifications
- Familiarity with most aspects of Aerospace engineering techniques
- Ability to plan and manage own and a limited number of others stress activities for a specific program
- Ability to manage self and technically support junior stress engineers
