About the Role

As a Naval Architect in our Submarine Naval Architecture Team, you will be involved in projects across the lifecycle of submarine assets for both our UK and international customers. You will have the opportunity to solve engineering challenges, support design changes, and contribute to the delivery of projects across our full portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support design changes and feasibility studies for submarine assets
  • Undertake surveys, 3D modeling, and naval architectural calculations
  • Conduct structural analysis and stability assessments using Paramarine software
  • Perform hydrodynamic assessments using in-house tools and Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Support engineering assessments for submarine life extensions
  • Contribute to research and development initiatives

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An HNC/HND/Foundation Degree or Bachelors/Masters degree or postgraduate qualification in Naval Architecture or a similar subject
  • Practical experience of conventional or nuclear submarine Naval Architecture
  • Membership of a recognised professional body
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of liaising with customers and communicating your work in a clear and concise manner
  • Flexibility to be deployed on a range of projects and customer sites

Security Clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK security clearance at SC level.
