About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Design Engineer to join our team at United Utilities. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in providing technical advice and guidance to support the delivery of our capital and strategic civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations and technical standards.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide authoritative engineering guidance and manage project lifecycles, from data analysis to documentation and technical review.
  • Leadership: Assume interim leadership roles, demonstrating adaptability and readiness to uphold senior responsibilities.
  • Industry Promotion: Promote the company's technical prowess within the industry by contributing to scholarly articles and supporting educational outreach.
  • Health and Safety: Uphold stringent health and safety protocols, mentor emerging talent, and drive the enhancement of engineering practices and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Qualified to degree level/HND equivalent or have equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
  • Professional Membership: Chartered/Incorporated engineer, or someone with a demonstrable equivalent level of expertise and working towards chartership.
  • Industry Experience: Working knowledge and experience of capital and strategic civil engineering projects in highly technical and commercial environments.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience of providing technical advice, influencing and directing the delivery of successful engineering outcomes.
  • Driving Licence: Hold a current UK/EU driving licence.
