We are thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for a seasoned HR expert to become a vital member of our HR Advisory team on a fixed-term basis. This crucial position is embedded within the Global Shared Services (GSS) organization at DNV, which delivers exceptional services across HR, Finance, and IT sectors.
The GSS HR Advisory team extends its support to all DNV Business Areas. In this role, you will collaborate with a designated portfolio of businesses and services throughout the UK & Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Senior HR Consultant, you will be instrumental in harmonizing GSS HR services and functional teams with their critical needs. Your work will involve managing intricate cases and projects within specific business units. You will serve as a trusted advisor to both management and Business Area HR ("BA HR") on issues related to employee relations and human resources. Proactively addressing the HR and employee relations requirements of your assigned business unit will be central to your responsibilities, making you an invaluable asset to our organization. By fostering strong relationships with your stakeholders, you will act as a change agent for GSS HR, ensuring that service level agreements (SLA) are met with efficiency, effectiveness, and high quality.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Applying knowledge of UK and/or Irish employment law and HR practices, including the interpretation of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Consulting and advising stakeholders, including Line Managers and employees.
- Offering daily employee relations guidance to line management, covering areas such as performance management, dispute resolution, coaching, and counseling.
- Assisting with restructures, TUPE, and M&A processes, including the alignment of terms and conditions.
- Managing and supporting key HR initiatives, as well as regional and global projects as they arise.
- Ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, including GDPR, ISO27001, and local laws.
At DNV, we value our employees and their contributions to our business. Therefore, we offer a flexible rewards and benefits package that allows you to select what matters most to you, including:
- Excellent career advancement opportunities, with resources to support your development and the freedom to explore your interests.
- Non-contractual profit-sharing scheme.
- Lifestyle benefits: Hybrid working, 26 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, options for unpaid leave, sabbatical leave, and flexible working arrangements.
- Wellbeing benefits: including Private Medical and Dental Insurance, Health Assessments, Gym allowance, and contributions towards eye tests and glasses for computer users. Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) offers free and confidential support for various issues, and we provide complimentary fruit in our offices.
- Financial benefits: including a Pension Scheme with employer contributions up to 9%, Life Assurance, and Income Protection.
- Travel benefits: Season Ticket Loan, Cycle to Work Scheme, and Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme.
- Reimbursement of relevant Professional Membership Fees (up to £570).
- Access to an employee retail discount site for high street and online shopping.
Commitment to Diversity: DNV is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to gender, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, cultural background, social group, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, age, or political opinion. Diversity is fundamental to our culture, and we invite you to be part of this diversity.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and attributes:
- Significant HR experience, ideally in a relevant role (HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor, Consultant, Employment Law).
- Strong knowledge and practical application of UK employment legislation and employee relations case management best practices; immigration knowledge is desirable.
- Proven experience in employee relations investigations.
- Extensive experience in M&A activities (divestments, acquisitions, mergers).
- A customer-focused and service-oriented mindset.
- Project management experience is desirable.
- A history of successfully working closely with and influencing senior stakeholders to gain support for HR and company initiatives.
- Experience in a shared service environment is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
