Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lifting Operations Specialist to join our team at KBS Maritime Ltd. As a key member of our Alongside Services department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of lifting operations within the Portsmouth Naval Base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Restricted Berth Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all lifting operations and ensuring compliance with laid-down policies and procedures.
  • You will liaise with team leaders and managers from other sectors of Alongside Services departments to support the wider delivery service.
  • Organize work streams utilizing Business computer systems, CAFM, and Mobiess to relay and capture all work-associated tasks and timings.
  • Oversee all slingers and crane drivers, ensuring they are fully briefed in accordance with lift plans.
  • Ensure all lifting operations are conducted in a safe manner and that all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Organize the timely issue of a Declaration of Ships Planned Emissions, Rotations, and Transmissions (DERT) form prior to any lifting operations commencing.
  • Line manage a team of Port operatives with varying skills, including heavy lifting.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Extensive experience in lifting operations and heavy lifting.
  • Strong knowledge of lifting plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make rapid informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in Business computer systems, CAFM, and Mobiess.
