Principal Computational Genetics Scientist

CK Group is seeking a highly skilled Principal Computational Genetics Scientist to join a global pharmaceutical company based in Slough on a contract basis for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the analytical workload within a dynamic group that develops and applies leading-edge analytics and approaches.
  • Work on projects with an outward-facing role, potentially leading teams and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Apply expertise in statistical genetics, computational skills, and data interpretation to drive project success.
Requirements:
  • Direct experience in analyzing and using genetic data from multiple platforms and analytical approaches.
  • Expert knowledge of statistics, particularly in statistical genetics, and advanced computational skills.
  • Ability to interpret and present data in the context of the question under study.
  • Good knowledge of the drug discovery process and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in applying genetics and genetic approaches to drug discovery and development.
  • Experience in using and querying population databases.
  • Expertise in methods for functional interpretation of genomics data, such as variant and gene pathway mapping and enrichment.
  • Ability to understand and integrate data from other sources, such as transcriptomics and proteomics.

Working Arrangements:

This role allows for hybrid working with 2 days based at our client's site in Slough and 3 days working from home.
