Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Director to join our team. As an EU Market Expansion Specialist, your primary goal will be to expand our market presence across the European Union, especially in the UK, Spain, Germany, and Denmark, targeting a diverse customer base that includes the meat production industry, veterinary hospitals, governmental agencies, and academic institutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify New Business Opportunities: Actively seek out new business opportunities and partnerships that align with our company's strategic goals in the EU market.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Explore and establish collaborative research or commercial projects that enhance our product offerings and market reach.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with existing and potential clients and customers, ensuring their needs are met and fostering long-term engagement.
  • Project Management: Oversee and manage various business development projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with company objectives and timelines.
  • Market Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the veterinary diagnostic market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes within the EU, using this information to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements
  • Business Strategies: Ability to gather relevant market information and make evidence-based business strategies (pricing, route-to-market...) accordingly.
  • B2B Expertise: Proven experience in Business-to-Business sales, particularly in the biotechnology or veterinary sector.
  • Sales Prospecting: Skilled in identifying and developing new sales leads and opportunities.
  • Lead Generation: Ability to generate leads that translate into tangible business growth.
  • Opportunity Identification: Keen eye for recognizing and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
  • Customer Interaction: Strong interpersonal skills for effective customer interactions and relationship building.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the health biotech industry, particularly in veterinary diagnostics or vaccination.
Desirable Skills
  • Educational Background: Educational background in veterinary medicine, veterinary sciences, other STEM areas, or MBA.
  • Start-up Experience: Experience of working in an early-stage biotech start-up.
  • EU Regulations: Experience/knowledge in EU veterinary regulations.
