Purpose of Job:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to assist with the care and support of our 11-year-old son, who has autistic spectrum disorder. The successful candidate will work alongside us to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our child, while also supporting our younger son.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to our eldest son, engaging in activities that promote his social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, homework support, and leisure activities.
- Supervise and support our younger son, ensuring his needs are met and he feels safe and secure.
- Communicate effectively with us, providing regular updates on our child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with autism or similar needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid DBS check and references.
