About the Role

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our hand therapy team as a Therapy Assistant. This is a part-time role, working hours with a working pattern negotiated but must be within Monday to Friday.

Main Duties

The successful applicant will work alongside Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists within the rheumatology and hand therapy outpatient team. This role includes working within various outpatient settings in the hospital and in the community, using specialist skills to complete a range of therapeutic activities with a wide variety of clinical conditions.

The role will involve the delivery of exercise therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, and patient education to support self-management. The role involves visiting patient's homes where patients will be fitted with equipment and adaptations as prescribed by the treating therapist.

The Therapy Assistant will be required to work autonomously within clearly defined parameters and competency framework. To undertake administrative and stock control duties as requested to support the physiotherapy and occupational therapy services.
