We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Salford. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a Psychology team within a CMHT setting, focusing on the assessment and support of older people with complex mental health and/or organic presentations.
The successful candidate will assist qualified clinical psychology and multidisciplinary team staff by undertaking psychological assessments and interventions, preparing psychoeducational materials, and assisting liaison and communication between psychology and other team members. The post holder will also be expected to work independently on a day-to-day basis, to meet goals and tasks set by the supervising clinical psychologist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake psychological assessments and interventions for older adults with complex presentations
- Prepare psychoeducational materials to support client understanding and engagement
- Assist in the analysis and interpretation of data from various sources, including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, and direct and indirect observation
- Contribute to risk assessment and formulations of risk management plans
- Assist qualified therapy staff in the delivery of specialist psychological interventions with older people with complex acute or chronic cognitive and mental health problems
