Position Overview

This role presents a distinctive opportunity for a professional with expertise in clinical data oversight to significantly contribute to the proton beam therapy initiative at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH). The successful candidate will offer strategic leadership while effectively overseeing and advancing proton clinical outcomes research, which encompasses patient-reported outcomes (PROMS), the formulation of projects and studies across UCLH and national frameworks, and will facilitate the establishment and execution of clinical trials and Evaluative Commissioning in Protons (ECIP). The individual will play a vital role in the creation and upkeep of a UCLH-managed database, collaborating closely with partner organizations.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will:

  • Lead the development, support, and management of proton clinical outcomes research, including patient-reported outcomes (PROMS).
  • Oversee the formulation of projects and studies across UCLH and national services.
  • Facilitate the development and execution of clinical trials and Evaluative Commissioning in Protons (ECIP).
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of a UCLH-held database, working in partnership with relevant organizations.
  • Act as a core member of the departmental management team, ensuring effective communication and updates within the team.
  • Establish and uphold standards, ensuring all team members are informed of current practices and receive necessary training.
  • Support team members in achieving their professional objectives through regular meetings and guidance.
  • Develop policies and protocols for the Proton Clinical Outcomes Unit (PCOU) and engage actively in research and innovative practices.
