Role Summary

Gleeson Homes is in search of a Regional Finance Business Partner to collaborate closely with the Greater Manchester & Merseyside Regional management team, part of our Central Division. This finance position will primarily be located in the Regional office, with occasional visits to other Regional offices and the Head office to foster strong relationships with operational teams. The role will report directly to the Homes FD while working closely with the Regional Managing Director and other senior management for effective collaboration. Additionally, the position will engage with key stakeholders, including the Divisional Managing Director, Homes CE, and CFO.

As a vital member of the Finance team, the successful candidate will partner with existing Senior and Regional Finance Business Partners, providing financial guidance, insights, and support to operational teams within the Region. They will collaborate with the Central Finance team to ensure that financial performance is effectively communicated and will analyze both financial and non-financial KPIs to assist the Region in achieving its growth objectives. The Regional Finance Business Partner will also play a crucial role in the budgeting and forecasting processes, working alongside the Senior Finance Business Partner and Central Finance team at various levels.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial data to operational teams in a straightforward and concise manner, both verbally and in writing. This role will also require proficiency in extracting and manipulating data from the COINs ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integral member of the Finance team, collaborating with Senior and Regional Finance Business Partners while supporting the Homes FD
  • Partner closely with the Regional Managing Director to provide and interpret financial and operational KPIs, aiding in informed decision-making and driving necessary actions
  • Support and challenge Regional operational teams in evaluating new site assessments, monitoring existing site performance, and managing overheads in both financial and non-financial contexts
  • Generate a comprehensive monthly Regional reporting package, including financial reports from the Central Finance team, along with commentary on operational and financial performance in conjunction with the Regional Managing Director
  • Lead the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for the Region, collaborating closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner and Central Finance team
  • Undertake specific projects and analyses as requested by the Divisional Managing Director, Homes FD, CFO, and broader business

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A qualified accountant (e.g., ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 2-3 years of post-qualification experience
  • Previous experience in a finance role with a focus on commercial or business partnering
  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to cultivate robust relationships with key operational stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and documentation
  • Proficient in IT, capable of managing a high volume of data effectively
  • An enthusiastic and ambitious team player with a strong work ethic
