About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fitness and Exercise Referral Manager to join our team at Freedom Leisure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team to deliver exceptional service, increasing activity levels, and maximizing sales and income generation.

You will also be managing our Exercise Referral Programme, working closely with local partners to develop and deliver health referral-based exercise programs that enhance the health outcomes of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team to deliver exceptional service and increase activity levels
  • Manage the Exercise Referral Programme, working with local partners to develop and deliver health referral-based exercise programs
  • Collaborate with local partners to drive positive impact and monitor programme delivery
  • Provide fitness advice and knowledge to support customers in their training
  • Manage the gym and fitness areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for customers
Requirements
  • A relevant Level 3 Fitness Qualification
  • Proven experience in working with patients with a range of health conditions
  • Experience in creating, planning, and delivering exercise programmes, both one-to-one and in groups
  • Awareness of local health inequalities
  • Ability to present and work with a mixture of partners, in the health system and sporting networks
  • Experience of problem-solving, organizational customer service, and staff management
  • Experience of at least three years in a fitness facility
  • Strong people management skills
  • A high awareness of industry developments, new activities, trends, and research
  • Good commercial awareness, translating into a successful and financially viable operation
  • A passion for the industry, demonstrated through continuous professional development
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, able to negotiate and persuade people both internally and externally
  • Excellent time management skills, able to deal with multiple priorities
  • A self-starter who inspires others with their passion and energy
  • Excellent communication skills, able to think on their feet
  • Ability to work flexibly with a good level of autonomy
  • Team-oriented approach, able to work across organizational boundaries and demonstrate interest and support for the work of staff and colleagues
Desirable
  • Level 4 Qualification in Cancer Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab, or any other relevant qualifications
  • Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • First Aid
  • At least 12 months experience as a Level 3 Exercise Referral Instructor
