Role Overview As a Production Planning Lead, you will oversee a team responsible for developing production forecasts, creating schedules, placing material orders, and coordinating necessary resources to meet both customer and business objectives across one or multiple manufacturing sites. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Utilizing advanced planning systems to translate sales forecasts into feasible production and material plans, ensuring an optimal balance between customer satisfaction and operational cost efficiency.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to maintain a safe, engaged, and focused planning team, fostering their development and maximizing their potential.
  • Formulating budgets and managing expenditures to ensure operational effectiveness and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborating with commercial and supply chain teams to generate precise sales forecasts and essential information for effective standard operating procedures.
  • Engaging with customers and participating in cross-functional business discussions, such as new product development processes, in partnership with commercial teams, customers, and suppliers to support collaborative business planning.
  • Monitoring compliance with policies, practices, legal requirements, and customer standards, developing and implementing strategies to enhance adherence and ensure the team is always prepared for audits.
Candidate Profile
  • Preferably educated to degree level or possesses equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in supply chain management from a similar role.
  • Understanding of sales order processing and distribution planning.
  • Experience in managing and negotiating with third-party logistics providers.
  • Proficient in working with a wide array of suppliers.
  • Experience in inventory management and ensuring material availability.
  • Ability to manage customer expectations while delivering exceptional service.
  • Proven experience in budget management.
  • Experience in leading diverse teams with strong people management skills.
