Position Overview
The Electrical Estates Supervisor is responsible for the effective operational oversight of building and engineering services, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards. This role is pivotal in managing the estate's condition, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and safeguarding the well-being of patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operational management of building and engineering services, ensuring that all activities align with legislative requirements.
- Lead the engineering maintenance efforts, including both in-house and contracted services, to meet estate standards and specifications.
- Provide expert technical guidance to estates personnel and senior management, addressing a wide range of estates and engineering challenges.
- Fulfill Authorised Person duties for Low Voltage Systems and other engineering systems as per Health Technical Memoranda (HTM).
- Participate actively in Trust working groups, contributing to compliance and operational discussions.
Main Duties
- Deliver professional advice on various estates-related matters.
- Coordinate and prioritize engineering maintenance tasks, ensuring timely and safe service delivery while managing competing demands.
- Handle planned and unplanned service disruptions, developing contingency strategies and communicating effectively with service departments.
- Formulate long-term maintenance strategies for building and engineering components, integrating in-house and contracted labor along with statutory inspections.
- Create and implement policies and procedures for the efficient management of Estates services.
- Oversee maintenance contracts, ensuring value for money and performance monitoring, including invoice authorization upon successful completion of works.
- Manage procurement processes for materials and services to facilitate responsive and cost-effective service delivery.

- Qualified Electrician
- Authorised Person for Low Voltage Electrical Systems (HTM 06)
- Authorised Person for Ventilation Systems (HTM 03)
- Responsible Person for Water Systems (HTM 04)
- IOSH / NEBOSH Certification
- First Aid Certification
