Job Title: Head of Financial Management

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Financial Management to join our team at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the estate's team to help deliver the corporate aims, objectives, and objectives of the Trust. They will provide specialist advice and guidance for estates on technical and compliance matters relating to all aspects of the Trust's Estate.

Main Responsibilities
  • Management of devolved budgets, including authorised signatory, planning, and forecasting expenditure, producing cost savings, and improving value for money in line with the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions.
  • Annually agreeing with the department's management accountant the budget for the department and maintaining and monitoring effective systems of financial management to ensure delegated budgets are controlled within allocation.
  • Identifying and agreeing with the Director devolved cost improvement programmes (CIPs) and efficiency programmes and implementing and monitoring progress against agreed targets.
  • Ensuring that the department complies with the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions (SFI's) and obtaining the necessary number of quotations/tenders from suitably qualified and approved firms or suppliers.
Requirements
  • Educated to masters level, in a related subject or equivalent experience.
  • IOSH / NEBOSH General Diploma.
  • Experience of working in a highly complex Estates management environment within an NHS or healthcare environment.
  • Authorised Person for Electrical systems (HTM 06).
  • Responsible Person for Water (HTM 04).
  • HealthRoster.
  • First Aid.
  • Project Management.
