Family Therapy Practitioner

Position Overview
An exceptional opportunity exists to become a vital member of a well-regarded Family Therapy team within a not-for-profit organization. We are in search of a dedicated and skilled professional with a background in social work, mental health, or psychology to join our team of therapists. This role is part of a licensed, evidence-based program known for its successful outcomes.
This position focuses on delivering therapeutic interventions to families with children aged 8-17 who are at risk of entering care. The aim is to prevent such outcomes and support families in crisis. Additionally, we assist a select group of young individuals who have already entered care, facilitating their transition back home through our therapeutic approach.
Key Responsibilities
As a Family Therapy Practitioner, you will leverage your extensive experience in family dynamics, potentially working towards accreditation as a family therapist or systemic practitioner. You may also possess training in alternative therapeutic models and wish to broaden your expertise in systemic practices. You will collaborate with a diverse team of therapists, all supervised by experienced professionals.
The team has been operational for several years, integrating seamlessly with social care and early intervention services. You will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure adherence to the therapeutic model. Your role will involve accepting referrals and building effective partnerships with social care and other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for families. You will utilize the therapeutic model to engage families and foster sustainable change, while maintaining a focus on outcomes and sensitivity to risk and child protection issues.
This position requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate families' schedules, primarily within the designated service area.
About Our Organization
Family Psychology Mutual is a staff-owned social enterprise committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based services. We value diversity and inclusion within our workforce, recognizing the importance of varied perspectives in fulfilling our mission. We encourage qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds to consider joining our team.
This role offers the chance to work within a supportive environment, contribute to innovative interventions, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and their families facing complex challenges.
Qualifications and Skills

- A professional qualification in social work, mental health, or a related field.
- Experience working with families and young people in challenging situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and collaborate with other professionals.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in child welfare and family therapy.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively while maintaining high standards of care.
We are dedicated to supporting our employees' professional development and well-being, ensuring a fulfilling work experience.
