The Role:

Established by influential leaders, The Earthshot Prize aims to combat the illegal wildlife trade and protect endangered species. Our mission is to encourage collaboration across various sectors to eliminate opportunities for traffickers to transport, finance, or profit from illegal wildlife products. As we progress into a new phase, we are in search of a highly driven and skilled Project Manager to enhance coordination and amplify our impact. This position is vital for the overall management of priority projects and deliverables, including partner engagement and identifying scaling opportunities, under the guidance of the Programme Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Strategy, Planning, and Execution:

  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate updates to the Programme Strategy and Delivery Plans for Taskforces and Regional Chapters.
  • Oversee project management and implementation, ensuring timely progress towards established milestones.
  • Assist the network of Regional Chapters in executing impactful initiatives.
  • Lead essential project update meetings, formulate agendas, and ensure that action items are documented and communicated.
  • Manage the strategy and execution plan for events and partnerships.

Programme Oversight:

  • Maintain the Programme Delivery Plan, encompassing milestones, deliverables, indicators, and activities.
  • Develop and supervise the Programme monitoring system for effective oversight of global initiatives.
  • Coordinate weekly team activities to ensure adherence to plans, manage key milestones, and identify potential risks.
  • Support senior management in making resource allocation decisions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Keep an accurate and current member database.
  • Draft and contribute to project updates for senior management, donors, and occasionally Trustees.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor the work of external partners to ensure alignment with agreed KPIs.
  • Actively participate in the team, providing strategic and operational insights and support.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes:

  • Proven knowledge and experience in Agile Project Management (essential).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams (essential).
  • Experience in budget management (essential).
  • Previous experience or passion for conservation (desirable).
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or French (advantageous).
  • Professional demeanor with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
