We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Charles River. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our employees, visitors, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Control and manage staff and visitor entry and exit from Charles River facilities.
- Custody, issue, and control of keys and access cards.
- Conduct regular building and site foot patrols to ensure the security and integrity of our facilities.
- Respond to emergencies and initiate early response protocols as needed.
- Monitor CCTV feeds from multiple facilities and respond to any security breaches or incidents.
- Monitor and react to intruder detection and surveillance systems across multiple facilities.
- Monitor and react to automatic fire detection system alarms across multiple facilities.
- Perform periodic testing of the automatic fire detection system to ensure its effectiveness.
- Respond to environmental monitoring system alarms and maintain records across multiple facilities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to security tasks and activities.
- Perform site maintenance duties as required, including snow clearing and other tasks.
- Participate in overtime to cover colleague annual leave or sickness as needed.
- Previous experience working in a security environment is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, visitors, and clients at all levels.
- Ability to work routine shift patterns, including day and night shifts, and to follow standard operating procedures during emergencies.
- Basic IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Windows-based databases.
- Ability to act as the first point of contact for visitors and clients.
- Proven customer service skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels.
- Current driving license is essential.
