About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ticketing Operations Coordinator to join our team at Byway. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing ticketing logistics, ensuring seamless travel experiences for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Ticketing Logistics: Timely booking, amendments, and cancellations of tickets, with a keen eye for detail and efficiency.
  • Conduct Thorough Ticket Checks: Ensure quality and accuracy of booked tickets, identifying and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with Routing and Ops Teams: Align ticketing options with our unique travel experiences, devising alternatives for disrupted journeys to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work with Supply Partners: Secure the best deals and ensure availability for our trips, maintaining strong relationships with our partners.
  • Identify Optimal Ticketing Options: Research and recommend the most enjoyable and cost-effective ticketing options for train, boat, and bus travel across Europe.
Requirements
  • Experience in Overland Travel: Planning and booking overland travel, either professionally or personally, with a willingness to build on existing expertise to align with Byway practices.
  • Passion for Slow Travel: A good working knowledge of European rail geography, timetables, and ticketing, with a passion for slow travel and a few favorite routes in one or more Byway regions.
  • Operational Skills: Strong operational skills, able to confidently work through a pipeline of tasks and deliver great results to time and budget.
  • Attention to Detail: An extraordinary eye for detail, with quick thinking, agility, and creativity in problem-solving.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working well with our team, partners, and occasionally, customers.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make decisions that maximize customer enjoyment while operating within company guidelines.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary: £27,000-£31,000 p.a., prorated, depending on experience.
  • Remote-First, Flexible Working: Work from anywhere, with flexible scheduling and a focus on work-life balance.
  • Benefits Package: 80 hours of flexible working time, 20 days of flexible working time, and 2 days of team time, plus access to coworking spaces and agency rates with Eurostar.
  • Holiday Time: 33 days of holiday time per year, prorated, including bank holidays, and an optional extra two days if you travel flight-free with Climate Perks.
