Job Description

At OneForma, we are seeking a highly skilled Junior Server Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our server infrastructure, including planning, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement server or rack installations, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of servers and other hardware, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
  • Manage data on internal systems, including asset management, ticketing, and rack elevations, to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with remote vendors to resolve hardware failures or issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Provide on-call support, responding to issues raised by business owners and resolving them in a timely manner.
  • Collect and verify online asset data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Submit and track part RMA or media destruction processes, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Perform server network troubleshooting and lifecycle management, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Other server operation-related tasks, as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure, with a strong learning ability, broad technical interest, and a sense of responsibility.
  • Good communication skills in English, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of server functions and technologies, including Linux systems and basic network concepts.
  • Ability to understand and run simple Shell/Bash scripts, with a strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with out-of-band/lights-out server communication methods, such as IPMI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with server operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.
