Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

For comprehensive details regarding the objectives of this position and our services, please refer to our supplementary information sheets.

The Integrated Access Partnership (IAP) is a pioneering initiative that delivers urgent and emergency mental health services. We function across emergency response systems to provide integrated physical and mental health assistance around the clock.

The IAP is in search of a committed and seasoned Clinical Operations Supervisor to become part of our award-winning mental health crisis response team. This full-time position is vital for overseeing daily operational management, offering support, and providing leadership to our multidisciplinary workforce.

This newly established role aims to strengthen our management framework and deliver dedicated, on-shift assistance to our frontline personnel. As the Clinical Operations Supervisor, you will serve as the primary source of immediate managerial support, concentrating solely on daily operations and staff welfare. Unlike traditional management roles, you will not engage in routine meetings or long-term projects, enabling you to remain consistently available for our team during your shift. Your active presence across our service model will guarantee that staff have immediate access to managerial guidance when required. This position is essential for connecting our strategic management with frontline operations, directly enhancing both staff satisfaction and the quality of care provided to our service users.

Main Responsibilities

The IAP Clinical Operations Supervisor will collaborate closely with the mental health clinical coordinator and existing team leaders.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Deliver visible and accessible managerial support to the team.
  • Oversee daily staffing, including coordinating shift adjustments and skill mix planning.
  • Conduct return-to-work meetings and well-being assessments.
  • Manage managerial escalations and same-day feedback.
  • Assist with staff supervisions, evaluations, and professional development.
  • Ensure staff welfare through breaks, debriefs, and incident support.
  • Coordinate attendance at essential clinical meetings.
  • Supervise administrative tasks related to staffing and operations.

This role is crucial for upholding our high standards of care while ensuring our team members feel supported and valued in their challenging and essential work. The ideal candidate will possess a background in mental health, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
