Job Description

Job Title: Staff Architect

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Architect to join our team at Burns & McDonnell. As a Staff Architect, you will play a key role in creating world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments across various sectors, including:

  • Corporate and Commercial Facilities
  • Healthcare and Medical Centers
  • Sport Venues and Stadiums
  • Data Centers and Telecommunication Facilities
  • Airports and Aviation Infrastructure
  • Institutional and Governmental Buildings
  • Industrial and Manufacturing Facilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform architectural design from conceptual phase to design completion
  • Modify and review production drawings for various building types
  • Design exterior and interior components and architectural requirements
  • Apply strong knowledge of architectural concepts, practices, codes, and procedures
  • Research and compile project-related data
  • Update drawings and verify corrections in multiple software platforms
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • 3 years of architectural experience, consulting preferred
  • Experience at a concept design level to assist with data center masterplans
  • Knowledge of NBS specification writing
  • Experience in large-scale industrial or commercial design
  • Data center or telecommunication facility experience and knowledge of critical facility Mechanical design
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, BIM (Revit), Adobe Suites, and 3D rendering programs
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time schedule
  • Travel required, up to 15% of the time
