Position Overview

About The Opportunity
Morrison Energy Services is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Coordinator to oversee our Electrical Transmission initiatives, with responsibilities extending across various locations.
In this role, you will join our Electrical Transmission management team, tasked with supervising the civil and mechanical & electrical (M&E) delivery teams involved in National Grid EPC Substations and M&E RIIO-T2 Frameworks throughout the UK.
Our Electrical Transmission division collaborates with clients such as National Grid and SSE, engaging in a variety of Infrastructure Project Development and EPC Capital projects.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Directing the construction team to successfully execute a range of M&E projects from inception to completion.
  • Implementing strategic health, safety, and environmental management practices to uphold the highest standards.
  • Ensuring project delivery aligns with established timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborating closely with the planning team to maintain effective delivery schedules and monitor progress.
  • Fostering a cohesive management team environment among the Construction Manager, Commercial Manager, Design Lead, and Project Engineers.
  • Leading risk management efforts for the projects.
  • Providing expert guidance on technical and contractual issues to facilitate timely resolutions.
  • Contributing to new contract tender submissions by leveraging industry expertise.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports alongside the Commercial Manager.
  • Exhibiting commercial acumen to guide the management team in achieving balanced scorecard objectives and meeting or exceeding financial targets.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated project management experience within the electrical infrastructure sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Electrical Transmission and Distribution industry is essential.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse portfolio of projects with varying complexities and values.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Understanding of commercial management principles.
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Possession of a relevant Project Management qualification or equivalent.
  • A valid driving license and readiness to travel frequently.
