Job Title: Unqualified Teacher

Job Summary:

Aurora Fairway School, part of The Aurora Group, is seeking an Unqualified Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality vocational subjects to students with SEMH, ASD, and other complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of students.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalized targets to optimize learning for each student.
  • Monitor, assess, review, and report on student progress to parents, team members, senior staff, and examination bodies.
  • Develop lesson plans, analyzing and reflecting on outcomes.
  • Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, maintaining good communication with other staff.
  • Provide clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation, and challenge.
  • Assist in the development of the curriculum offer.
  • Manage challenging behavior within school policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • GCSE pass above C grade 4 in English and Maths.
  • Evidence of previous experience is essential.
  • Postgraduate diploma in SEN is desirable.
  • Experience of working in a special school environment and with students with SEMH is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum.
  • Working knowledge of SEMH students with complex needs, including ASD.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience of autism and associated co-morbid conditions and how these affect learning.
