About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Maternal Mental Health Services Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the implementation of new services and initiatives that promote the delivery of trauma-informed care in maternity settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Maternal Mental Health Services (MMHS) in collaboration with service users, local communities, and healthcare professionals.
  • Provide staff support, training, and consultation to increase awareness about the impact of trauma and loss on women's mental health and maternity experience.
  • Co-produce MMHS with service users and local communities to reduce health inequalities and promote culturally sensitive care.
  • Coordinate practice across multiple clinical areas, ensuring alignment with wider maternity transformations and NHS policies.
  • Monitor and maintain standards of care, identifying areas for improvement and developing remedial action plans.
  • Work with the MMHS team, department midwifery staff, and allied health professionals to assess clinical skills and develop programs to address deficits.
  • Lead on mental health initiatives in maternity, ensuring compliance with Trust and NHS policies.
Requirements
  • Post-registration experience working in a mental health setting.
  • Evidence of professional development, including mental health training or equivalent.
  • Evidence of implementing new policies and/or service developments.
  • Trauma-informed care training or equivalent.
  • Teaching or evidence of supporting multidisciplinary team training.
