We offer a variety of contract options including Full-time, Part-time, and Bank positions within our dedicated Stranraer team.

No prior experience in care is necessary as we are committed to investing in your professional development. Comprehensive training will be provided through our award-winning learning and development team before you commence your role.

Please note that a valid driving licence is a requirement for this position. Mileage will be reimbursed at a rate of 45p per mile.

Role Overview:

Our Stranraer service is dedicated to supporting individuals with complex needs, including learning disabilities and autism. Working with this demographic can be both challenging and fulfilling. Some individuals may be non-verbal, and due to their unique needs, they may exhibit behaviours that require careful management. To ensure safety, staff are trained in physical intervention techniques, which are used only as a last resort.

Most individuals will require 24-hour support, including overnight care. Shifts are structured at 8 hours each.

As a Complex Needs Practitioner, your responsibilities may include:

  • Social Engagement: Facilitating community involvement by organizing and participating in various leisure activities such as outings to day centres, cinemas, and swimming pools.
  • Personal Care: Supporting individuals in maintaining their personal hygiene and wellbeing, which includes assistance with bathing, dressing, and arranging medical appointments.
  • Practical Assistance: Aiding individuals in managing their living situations by encouraging daily household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, and shopping.
