Job Title: Specialist Podiatrist

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services to the community. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Podiatrist to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Podiatrist to contribute to the delivery and development of Podiatry Services and High Risk Diabetes Care. You will work in a dynamic and supportive team, rotating through various clinical settings and participating in Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs) for diabetes complex case clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, manage, and develop wound care and vascular assessment services
  • Contribute to the delivery of new patient clinics and nail surgery
  • Participate in MDTs for diabetes complex case clinics
  • Develop and implement new initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • HCPC registration and B.Sc. (or D.Pod.M) in Podiatric Medicine or equivalent
  • Local Analgesia Certificate
  • Extensive experience within a variety of clinical specialties
  • Evidence of further development of competencies and ability to be an autonomous practitioner
  • The ability to work flexibly and respond to changing needs
Working Hours and Benefits

Please note that from 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings. NHS Ayrshire and Arran will implement this change as soon as it is safe to do so.
