About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to lead our dedicated maintenance team at Majesticare. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our facilities, maintaining the highest standards of safety and comfort for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Daily Maintenance: Ensure the home's buildings and grounds are always in top condition, performing routine inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Lead the Maintenance Team: Manage, mentor, and guide the team to meet and exceed performance expectations, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Manage Your Budget: Ensure maintenance and project work stay within allocated budgets, making informed decisions to optimize resources and deliver excellent results.
  • Ensure Compliance & Safety: Maintain up-to-date records for health and safety, ensuring the home meets all regulatory requirements, and implementing measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Be Hands-On: Tackle minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, and support larger projects with external contractors, demonstrating a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Deliver Training: Provide essential health, safety, and fire safety training for staff, ensuring they are equipped to perform their roles safely and effectively.
  • Provide Emergency Response: Be ready to respond to urgent maintenance situations during and after working hours, demonstrating a commitment to providing excellent service.

Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • A genuine interest in working within a caring environment.
    • Extensive experience in maintenance work and DIY.
    • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
    • A full, clean driving license.
    • Basic knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
    • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Desirable:
    • Previous experience with PAT testing and fire risk assessments.
    • Vocational qualifications (achieved or in progress).
    • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory processes in a care home setting.
