Electrical and Mechanical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Haddenham, HP17 8LB. As a full-time Electrical Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all Quality Management Systems are adhered to and properly documented.
  • Ensure Engineering GMP targets are achieved with standards being understood and adhered to by all team members.
  • Understand food safety legislation, including HACCP in line with the responsibilities of the role and ensure that the team's outputs meet these standards.
  • Work with Production and Quality teams to improve and develop operating practices which enhance product quality and customer service.
  • Ensure full compliance with Company Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Assist with the integration of new equipment with the manufacturing, operations and project teams.
  • Multi Skilled- Mechanical, Electrical and Controls.
  • Attend Daily Engineering meeting and input in terms of safety, quality, and operational KPIs where appropriate.
  • Ensure all work is recorded on CMMS ensuring correct parts booked out as appropriate.
  • Execute planned maintenance activities with the Engineering team leader.
  • Ensure the correct spare parts are available and co-ordinate with stores personnel where required.
  • Report (written) on shift issues, ensuring successful information transfer to the oncoming shift's Senior Engineer.
  • Ensure appropriate Risk assessment, LOTO Procedures, Permit procedures are complied with.
  • On completion of maintenance work, ensure that equipment is serviceable and runs as expected, in readiness for production.
  • Ensure the safe working of engineering function (particularly in areas of isolation and safe entry) and provide 'safety walk' information to Operations Team Manager.
  • All company and legal requirements are met and maintained.
  • Time served Engineer - minimum NVQ 3 Mechanical or Electrical.
  • Experienced in food, or consumer products industry supported by a good track record of acquiring Engineering skills and continuous development.
  • A solid grounding in food handling safe practices and ability to carry out confined-space entry work.
  • Must be an effective team player.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and have ability to highlight continuous Improvement opportunities.
  • PC literate (Experience of Word, Outlook and Excel Spreadsheets).
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and fault-find within a production facility.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills - ability to effectively communicate with both suppliers and internal customers.
  • Must be able to accurately interpret schematic diagrams.
  • Logical thinker and problem solver.
  • Must possess the energy and drive to 'get things done'.
  • Have an organised methodology.
  • Can plan to a specified time scale.
