Key Responsibilities:
  • Contract Review and Negotiation: Review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and risk tolerances, with an emphasis on French language agreements.
  • Legal Advice and Support: Provide ad hoc legal advice to Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Product teams, summarizing and communicating legal concepts and risks in a meaningful way.
  • Process Improvement: Drive the continuous improvement of standard form agreements, legal knowledge databases/FAQs, and legal training materials.
  • Review and Approval Processes: Help develop scalable review and approval processes and procedures.
  • Communication and Autonomy: Be an excellent communicator who understands how to manage team and client expectations, working with a high degree of autonomy.
Requirements:
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both French and English, with the ability to review, draft, and negotiate contracts in both languages.
  • Education: Completed a law degree in a relevant jurisdiction.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with experience managing contracts and associated processes.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dig in on project details, working as part of a team with non-legal partners.
